Where is it and how do I get there?
The venue is the Basingstoke Sports and Social Club, on Bounty Road, Basingstoke RG21 3DR. It is walking distance from the town centre, bus routes and the railway station, there is no event parking but there are many places to park nearby – the long stay at Southern Road (RG21 7NP) is the closest.
What’s included in the ticket?
Tickets are for either Friday (3-12) or Saturday (12-12), there are some 2 day tickets available too and all tickets include entry to the site, live music. A reusable plastic beer glass is included in the price as well as full programme detailing all the beers available to buy from the bar.
I want to come with a group, are there discounts for groups?
Yes, if you buy 5 tickets you can get one free or if you buy 10 tickets you get 2 free – you can buy these on-line. If you are bringing a big work group and would prefer to be invoiced then please contact jane.staff@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk
How will I pay for drinks?
We are intending to go CASHLESS, so all drinks will be paid for contactless by card, or you can buy tokens from the office at the entrance for cash or card.
Can I bring children?
Children can come on Saturday afternoon – and entry will be free for them if accompanied by a paying adult. While they are welcome, please be aware that this isn’t really a family event with no entertainment aimed at children. No under 18’s on Friday or entry after 6pm on Saturday, all under 18’s should leave the site by 8pm on Saturday.
I don’t really like real ale, is there anything else to drink?
YES! As well as the wide selection of real ales, there will be lagers and craft ales, a range of ciders including fruit ciders and a wine and gin bar, so if all else fails you can enjoy a glass of Prosecco! There will also be soft drinks available.
Are there any concessions?
A special 2 person ticket is available for a reduced rate for a registered disabled person with accompanying carer (please bring a blue badge to show on entry).
Will I be able to buy tickets on the door?
There will be a limited number of tickets available on the gate, but iyou can buy on line right up to the end of the event, so best (and cheaper) to buy before you leave home.
I would like to work at the event, how do I join the team?
Please contact us at info@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk and we will put you in touch with our recruitment team. You can work Friday or Saturday – or both days.
Can I hire a stall space at the event?
Please download the application form and information and send to jane.staff@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk and we will be in touch. We aim not to duplicate stalls to make it worthwhile for all stallholders and preference will be given to Hampshire based caterers and other stall holders. Use of single use plastic by stallholders is not allowed. Electric supply is not available.
I have a band that would like to perform at the event, how do I get in touch?
Please get in touch with thatvibepromotions@gmail.com who are putting together the music programme. There is huge demand from bands wanting to play so please don’t be disappointed if you are not selected to perform.
Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Sorry – guide or assistance dogs only. The event is very busy and not suitable for dogs.
Are there security staff at the event?
Yes. It is a condition of our Licence that we have an adequate number of stewards, including SIA licensed security staff. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or require any person who is intoxicated to leave.
Are there security checks at the admission gate?
Yes. As is usual at large public events, our security staff will search bags at the point of admission. Depending on advice received at the time from the police, it is possible there may be additional security precautions.
Can I bring my own drink or food?
No. Bringing in alcoholic drinks is strictly prohibited and misses the point of the event, which is to try a wide range of interesting local beers, ciders, gins, wines, etc. There will be a number of different catering stands offering a wide range of meals (including vegan and vegetarian options).
Can I leave my car at the venue overnight?
No. There is no onsite parking. There is plenty of public parking minutes from the venue.
PROHIBITED ITEMS INCLUDE:
- No illegal substances – we operate a zero tolerance on drugs/legal highs.
- No weapons, and anything that might be used as a weapon and / or compromise public safety
- No fireworks
- No smoke or gas canisters/cylinders including aerosols and nitrous oxide
- No spray cans
- No laser equipment or pens
- No klaxons, air horns, megaphones
- No gazebos, tents or shelters
- No dangerous or hazardous items
- No candles or naked flames
- No Radio Controlled Aircraft (Drones)
