Above & Beyond Award
This award is to recognise individuals who have shown incredible professional and personal pride in their work that supports the community. It may be a public servant, a health care worker, a teacher or someone at any business or organisation who has gone above and beyond what would normally be expected in their job to support others in the community.

This new award is for the charity staff member who has made a telling difference in the Basingstoke and Deane community.

Community Project Award
This category is for an individual or group (voluntary or not) who have worked hard to develop project/s or activities for the overall benefit of the community that help make Basingstoke and Deane a place that we can all be proud of. This could be anything from support groups for vulnerable people and fund raising, to community tree planting, family fun days and awareness raising campaigns. Nominations can be from one-off projects or ongoing programmes.

Green Community Award
The judges are looking for a community project or organisation that is really making a difference when it comes to sustainability and being a green community champion. Nominees must be able to demonstrate tangible positive impact.

Health & Wellbeing Award
This category is for individuals or organisations involved in initiatives for keeping the borough healthy and for people and places dedicated to caring for people in our community. This could be a group of volunteers or a business that supports people to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Inspirational Educator Award
Who is the inspirational educator who has had a positive impact on the young, or not so young, people of Basingstoke and Deane? People shine bright for various reasons and this category will reward and recognise an inspirational educator to be proud of.

Sports Personality of the Year Award
This category will be looking for the junior sports achiever (under 18) and senior sports achiever (18 and over) – a person who has made his/her/their mark in their field of sport. It could be a sports person, an official, or a coach.

Sports Club of the Year Award
This category will be seeking to reward the local sports club that stands out from the crowd. This could be because of activities in their particular sport, but nominees will also be recognised for other commitments and contributions i.e: support for a local charity; making a difference to their local community.

Unsung Hero Award
An Unsung Hero is a person who makes an important contribution to the community – whether that is as a good neighbour, as a volunteer, or supporting others. It is someone who does a lot, and may have been doing it for a long time, but doesn’t get much public recognition. We all know a community unsung hero – use this category to say a heartfelt thank you for all their work behind the scenes.

Young Role Model Award
This category is for individuals 18 years or under who have shown real achievement and are an inspiration to others. The judges are looking for a person 18 or under who is a true role model for other young people for their achievements in a hobby, in a sport, in enterprise, raising money for charity, or in doing something special for their community.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Who deserves to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to the fabric of life in Basingstoke and Deane? Which individual has made a telling difference, and embodies the spirit of the A Place to be Proud of Awards? Please note: Previous winners are not eligible to be entered for this award.
