Virtual Basingstoke Half Marathon and 10k!
Many people (including us!) have been frustrated that our race clashes with the London Marathon in 2021. With covid, the autumn racing calendar has become very crowded.
So, for all those that wanted to run our race but are committed to the London Marathon (or other races), you can now also run our race virtually as part of your training plan in September.
For our loyal runners you can remain one of our coveted ‘ever presents’ in our 10th anniversary year, and secure your medal even if you can’t be with us on the day!
Entry is £12 (with £2 to charity)
You must do your virtual run (half marathon or 10k) between 1st September and 4th October, then submit your result to us by 5th October. We will then post you your medal.
Enter the Virtual 2021 Basingstoke Half Marathon / 10k
Details of the virtual race:
- All entrants must run either the 10k or half marathon between 1st September and 4th October
- Upload evidence of your run and time by 5th October 2021, using the instructions that will be provided
- Runners can choose any route, on road or off-road anywhere in the world. While we hope some runners will use part of the usual Basingstoke Half course, we urge you not to run on busy roads, use pavements and paths where at all possible and observe road safety in crossing or following any roads, which will all be open to all traffic.
- Destination Basingstoke and our partners accept no liability for any loss or injury while taking part in this virtual race
- £2 of your entry fee will go to St. Michael’s Hospice
- A results list will be published by Destination Basingstoke but results from affiliated athletes will not be added to the Power of 10 rankings
- Medals will be posted after 5th October to the address used in registration (so make sure its up to date!)
