The course for the new Basingstoke 10k is a scenic out-and-back course to the village of Cliddesden, following the same closed roads as the half marathon which takes place on the same day. This is a new race and an exciting development to help more runners enjoy participating in the Basingstoke's biggest sporting event. The 10k will start at 11.00, with the half marathon.

The 10k race starts from Hackwood Road, just outside the War Memorial Park, following the route of the half marathon along closed roads to the village of Cliddesden. Then there is a hill out of the village for about three quarters of a mile before the turn point just before the ‘Farleigh Wallop’ sign, where you retrace your steps downhill back to the village and follow the same route to the finish in War Memorial Park. The race starts at 11.00am at the same time and place as the half marathon. Overall there is about 300 feet of elevation with the same in descent. Click on the map on the right to see the detailed route.

If you decide to run the route ahead of the race please remember that the roads will be open, and the B4036 in particular is very busy. If you do so it is entirely at your own risk, the route is open to all traffic and due care is required, you will not be participating in any event organised by Destination Basingstoke Ltd. The road will be closed on race day.
