'Basingstoke & You' - Promoting Basingstoke with Real Facts...
Destination Basingstoke is running an on-going campaign promoting real facts about Basingstoke - 'Basingstoke & You'.
The marketing campaign portrays the real Basingstoke. It aims to increase pride among local residents by reminding them of facts about their town and ensuring outsiders are aware too.
Featuring photographs of local residents in Basingstoke locations, the campaign reveals positive facts about many aspects of life in the borough, such as eight out of ten companies based in Basingstoke saying that it is a great place to do business and that there are 80 miles of designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Posters and billboard advertising can be seen in Festival Place, at Basingstoke train station and even the back of public toilet doors around the town. Plus advertising on the back of buses will spread the good news further afield to Berkshire and around Hampshire. Adverts can be heard through the spring and into summer on regional radio. The radio advertising also uses real people talking about what they love about Basingstoke.

Managing Director of Destination Basingstoke Felicity Edwards said “Basingstoke has so much to offer, it's rated as the 12th best place to live in the whole country - local people have every reason to be proud, we hope the campaign will give us all the excuse to talk it up. The fact that 84% of residents are happy living in the borough is something that we should all want to shout about.
"The advertising campaign will give a positive - and honest - view and ensure the profile of the town is raised regionally and nationally. It will put Basingstoke in a strong position when there is an upturn in the economy and enable the town to reap the rewards of inward investment which will create jobs and increase economic prosperity locally.”
