I
f you have walked through the Malls in Basingstoke over the past two years you may have wondered why there always seems to be a man there on a rowing machine.
His name is Dave Holby and he spending three years rowing 44,075km (the equivalent of the circumference of the world) raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Hoping to finish this enormous challenge by Christmas 2010, Dave is now looking to the local business community in Basingstoke as he ramps up his fund raising.
“We’re looking to raise as much money as we can and originally set an ambitious target of £55,000. I am hoping the businesses of Basingstoke can help me reach that amount as I am keen to raise as much money as possible for this great charity.”Dave is starting his campaign by attending Fit For Business with Maria Miller taking place at The Ark on Friday 29th January and is keen to speak to as many companies as possible about donations and potential sponsorship tie-ups.
“I’ve already met some great companies in Basingstoke who have helped me raise my profile and I know there must be lots more we could be doing. It’s a real team effort and I am simply keen to grow the team.”
If you are interesting in talking to Dave about promotional ideas or donations, you can contact him through his website, or why not come and meet him face-to-face at Fit For Business ?
